we watch "The Fire" consume Sam's Ridge and Hazel XXMountain, we would like to take a minute and thank John McCarthy, Richie Burke, the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department and the Sperryville, Castleton and Salem Volunteer Fire Departments. We think all of our neighbors would be quick to agree that the local personel have answered our questions with candor and compassion.
The volunteer firefighters sitting stationed along Route 600 have been quick to tell us what they know. For those of us with homes, families, pets and livestock in the hollow- current information is a godsend.
