HELPING OTHERS
THROUGH LOSS
As painful as grieving may be for those who survive the loss of a loved one, it can be discomforting for their friends. People are often at a loss as to how to act around, and respond to, their grieving friends. We can begin by accepting the sadness for a circumstance that cannot be fixed. We can provide room for this sadness to be experienced by offering quiet companionship for grieving friends, if they so desire. Conversely, every attempt should be made to avoid giving advice, accompanied by the word “should.” It should also be remembered that, in the context of grief, cliches offered in hopes of minimizing grief are simply inappropriate. Quietly take your cues from your grieving friends.
We understand the conflicting needs of grief: the desire to be comforted and its impossibility. You’ll find us sensitive to the emotional needs of your family when you come to us for services. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, we urge you to consider prearrangements as a gift to your family. Knowing that all is as you wish can be a great comfort for those you leave behind. You’ll find us to be experienced in the ups and downs of grief and here to lend a hand. For years we have worked with families, helping them through difficult times. Call 540-347-3431, and we’re happy to lend a hand.
