ine uoara unanimously passed a resolution promoted by RCPS Volunteer Coordinator Jan Makela that would appeal to the State Legislature to designate Rappahannock County as the Volunteer Capital of Virginia.
• The Board also unanimously passed a resolution that encourages the Commonwealth Transportation Board to grant a special exception to Dr. and Mrs. D. Brooke Miller to permit them access to Route 211/522 from their farm near Washington. The resolution also reiterated support for the maintenance of the Limited Access status of the route. Dr. and Mrs. Miller had been granted a permit for access by VDOT, but that permit was withdrawn after they had nearly completed the new driveway to the access point on Route 211/522.
• The Board of Supervisors considered and approved the nominations of Donald Gore and Paul Poling to the Board of the Rappahannock Emergency Medical Services Council and of Joseph Hall to the Fire Levy Board. ■ • The Board considered and approved a ten year renewal to the Red Oak Valley and the East Wakefield Agricultural and Forestal Districts.
