Sunday luncheon guests of Edward and Ruth Clark were Mrs. Linda McArthur of Clarksville, Tenn., Walden and Hazel Messner of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Hazel Leak Messner is a former resident of the Sperryville and Washington area. She has been a subscriber to the Rappahannock News for years and years. She saw my column in the Rappahannock News and wrote me a letter and we have been writing each other for over ten years.
She and her husband flew into their daughter Linda McArthur’s home in Clarksville, Tenn. last week and they came to meet us on Sunday. In writing each other I found out that she is a niece of a deceased uncle-in-law of mine who lived in Richmond.
While here they wanted to tour the Sperryville and Washington area. They enjoyed seeing The Inn, Washington Baptist Church, Rappahannock News office, gift shops and Cooters in Sperryville and his home in Harris Hollow.
They left on Sunday night for Culpeper and on to Richmond later to visit other relatives and friends. After ten years of writing back and forth to each other, I never thought we would ever meet face to face. We had a nice
