Home Economics students at RCHS are busy baking pies for practice in preparation for the apple pie baking contest held annually in connection with the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester. Among those baking pies are Delons Gibbs, Christine Timbers, Donna Roy, Leslie Groves, Lucie Jackson, Barbara Steele, Carolyn Woodward and Janet Cloud. The young lady who is victorious in the school contest will go to Winchester where students from four states will compete.
The Rappahannock County Education Association met March 24 and officers for the 1971-72 session were elected. Edward Gray was named to the presidency; Miss Elsie Dodson was seated as vice-president; Mrs. Linda Yakim was selected as secretary and Mrs. Dorothy Butler as treasurer.
Future Homemakers of America in Rappahannock will join with the 16,520 FHA members in Virginia in observing National FHA week March 28 through April 3.
