• The RCES PTO is sponsoring a Buttercup Ball to honor and thank all RCPS staff. This wonderful event, organized by parent Kaye Kohler and her group of energetic volunteers, will be held at the Old School in Washington on Saturday, May 12 from 8-11 p.m. If you are a parent that would like to be a part of this fun evening the charge is $10 per couple. Please call Kaye Kohler at 937-6146 to RSVP, or to offer your assistance, as soon as possible. RCHS teacher Robert Glasker and his Blues Band will provide the entertainment. Many thanks to the PTO for this wonderful gesture.
• Did you know that RCES will be offering a Jumpstart Program for preschool children this summer? The program will be open to all students entering JCindergarten in the fall, thanks to generous funding from the Greve School Council. More information will be provided as it becomes available. , • Congratulations to the tjew Junior Panther (Middle School) Soccer Team for winning their very first game last Monday. Cedar Lee Middle School from Fauquier County provided stiff competition, blit our boys maintained a steady push throughout. The teamwork displayed by these young players was a joy to see. We look forward to more exciting matches in the near future. Many thanks to coaches Kenny Rogers and Chris Ramey.
• The Sixth Grade students will present the Spring program at RCES this year. The program will be a timeline of sorts focusing on the history of the 20th Century. There will be music, dancing and a radio show. Stay tuned for dates and times.
