The George Mason boys’ team is the current state champion and the only team that has beaten the 7-1-1 Panthers this year. The Rapp guys took it to them early with a talley in the first nine minutes of play. This was a very physical game with six yellow cards issued throughout the game. The Mustangs tied it up early in the second half, but junior Ralph Pace put the game away with a blistering shot with fifteen minutes to go for a 2-T win.
On Friday, May 4 with the ladies off, the Rapp men hosted the Strasburg Rams. Strasburg had some early success by trying to counter attack out of a low pressure defense. Sophomore Tbny Starks got the fun started with his first high school goal, and after that it was all Rappahannock.
With a relatively healthy, junior sweeper. Mike Fairbrother anchoring the defense, the Panthers sent people forward with impunity. Senior goal keep, Colin Treanor was spelled in goal and ended up scoring himself with a nice shot to further boost the Panther morale.
