Madness with Pizza at 12 a.m. and breakfast at 7 a.m. on Saturday. There are no rules against participants bringing snacks to sustain themselves between meals.
Cheri Woodward and Ben Atkins will be the Masters of Ceremonies. Various other Rappahannock notables will be appearing throughout the evening including: Pastors Phillip Bailey, Wendell Grant and Jon Heddleston; and Dr. Werner Krebser will give a five minute cancer talk.
There will be face painting for kids. Rollerblading and skating will be restricted to between 11 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. and to those on teams and wearing Relay team shirts and helmets and pads.
All participants or their parents or legal guardians for children under 18 attending the Relay must register and sign waivers. The waivers release the Relay’s organizers from claims arising from participation in the event and permit the use of names and photographs. Safety rules require that a responsible adult supervise children under 18. Access on the school grounds will be limited to specific areas.
On Saturday morning, a closing ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. and teams that met their fund raising goals as well as those top fund-raising teams will be recognized. There are no losers in the Relay for Life. It is a relay without a finish line-until we find a cure for cancer.
