Rappahannock Youth Soccer League played its fourth weekend, Saturday, May 5.

U-8 “Slime Time,” sponsored by White Oak Veterinary, played Madison’s Tom Crouthamel’s team, on RCES field. “Slime Time” played hard with a total of ten players, as an enthusiastic crowd cheered on both U-8’s including Coach Oyster’s “Green Dragons” as they had thrilling weekend matches against Madison teams.

The U-10 girls team, sponsored by Better Homes Realty, tied with Culpeper Emerald Hills with the score ending at 1-1 and Marcella Wallace making the goal. Despite hot weather and lack of substitutes, Mr. Nicks U-lO’s, sponsored by John Debergh, were defeated 4-3. Goals were scored by Brian Shafron (2 goals) and Greg Flournoy (1 goal). Rapp 2 U-10 “Demons” played on a hot,steamy field in Madison but many goals were scored and the Demons have a bright future as they are into their second half of season.

Demon goals were scored by Jacob Racer (1 goal), Dane Wellemeyer (1 goal) and Dean Hogan (2 goals). Final score: Demons • 4 Madison - 5.
