Carnival starts
tonight, parade on
Friday in Flint Hill
The Flint Hill Fire and Rescue Company’s annual fireman’s carnival starts tonight, Wednesday, June 13 and will continue through Saturday, June 16.
Virginia Premier Events will provide the rides. The parade will be held on Friday, June 15 beginning at 6:45 p.m. The crowning of the queen and awarding of prizes will be held on Saturday. The entire community is encouraged to attend and support this event.
RLEP Board to
meet Monday
at Library
The board of directors of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library.
Among topics to be discussed are the County’s proposed ordinance governing land application of sludge and Sprint’s revised plan for erecting seven cell-phone towers in the county. The meeting is open to the public and members of RLEP are urged to attend.
Conservation
bus tour set
On Saturday, June 16 the Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District is conducting a conservation tour highlighting conservation projects, both completed and in-progress.
Participants will visit farms in Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties, traveling by airconditioned bus. Join the tour and learn about opportunities and advantages of cost share programs, stream fencing, water development, forested stream buffers, rotational grazing and culvert installation.
The tour starts at 8:30 a.m. in the Culpeper USDA Service Center parking lot. A free lunch is included. Call the District at 8258591 for details.
