Even more gratifying is how far the older students have progressed since 5th grade! Mrs. Lynne Fournier, Director, is to be commended for her tremendous dedication to this program.
• The number of Band Booster members that have come together to support Band programs this year is tremendous. At the concert on Sunday it was evident that all of them have been extremely busy supporting our children in this program. Many thanks to Booster president and vice-president, Ginger Ester and John Wiese, and their hardworking corps of volunteers. Mr. Wiese was heard to remark that he volunteers because he loves it and it’s fun! That’s the message that we hope all potential volunteers will hear.
• Volunteers from throughout our system were invited to attend the Band Concert on Sunday as our special thank you to them for all that they do for our children every day of the year. As we looked around the high school auditorium it was difficult to find anyone that has not volunteered in one way or another this year. Many thanks to everyone. The phenomenal things that have been accomplished this year would have been impossible without your help.
• Local singer and songwriter Paul Reisler and a group of talented performers and technicians have been busy making a CD of children’s’ music that is due to be released in September. Featured on the CD will be RCPS Band students, children’s voices from across our county and songs written by RCES students as part of Mr. Reisler’s Artist in Residence program at RCES last year. He has engaged the efforts of a multitude of talented professional singers and musicians and the result is incredible.
