all levels. As this was happening, RCHS student David Massie was rebuilding the Outdoor classroom behind RCES as his Boy Scout Eagle Scout project. Since the dedication several weeks ago, teachers and students have actively used both areas. Thanks to all who so generously contributed to these.
• DARE/Field Day at RCES was the best ever! The Spring program at RCES, featuring the Sixth Grade class, the Middle School Band and Chorus, and tremendous help from the Art and Gifted/Talented Departments, received rave reviews from everyone in attendance.
• Ms. Jean Elizabeth, RCHS Parent and talented performer in her own right, directed Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at RCHS on June 8 and 9. The student actors and actresses were amazing to see. Many thanks to all who helped with costumes and sets. Those who were privileged to attend were grate fill for the experience.
• The RCHS Student Art Show featuring the works of Ms. Laurie Marshall’s students was extremely well received. The caliber of the work, not surprisingly, was very high. Many happy customers were seen leaving with treasures they had purchased.
• Starfish Mentoring has grown and expanded as well, and we are grateful to all mentors who volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of our children. We congratulate RCPS parent Mrs. Ellen NeillDore on being hired as executive director of Starfish for next year. We wish her well.
• The Fifth -Twelfth Grade Band Concert at RCHS on June 10 was a treat as well. It is a joy each year to hear how well our Fifth Graders, many of whom had never held an instrument prior to this year, play together.
