This time shared by a young father with his child is special. As they play together, the baby watches his father’s actions and reactions. As he grows older, some memories fade and some do not, but his child will ultimately learn to treat others by the way he is treated. Whether or not a Dad realizes it, he is role-playing.
A father’s role is a challenging one. He puts much loving thought and careful consideration into developing his family. Proverbs 22:6 tells us... “Train up a child in die way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." God’s Word can be a constant source of strength and wisdom.
May we honor fathers everywhere as we worship as a family this week. Our Heavenly Father is the ultimate example. When fathers interact with their children according to God’s Word, role-play is child’s play. Begin this week.
