Ululating mummies at Solstice
Hearthstone School will hold its first annual Summer Solstice Celebration on Sunday, June 24. Games begin at 2 p.m. Singer/songwriter Amy Silver will host an Open Mic, to which players of all ages are invited, from 3 to 5 p.m. A parade takes place at 5:30 p.m.
Featured next are Richmond’s Ululating Mummies, performing at 6 p.m., followed by a belly dancing exhibition. The Daycare Swindlers will perform at 9:30 p.m. Food will be available for sale all day. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children under five. Hearthstone School is located on US 211 three miles west of Sperryville. For more information call 9879212.
4th of July fundraiser slated
The Washington Baptist Church is planning several fundraising activities for the annual Fourth of July festival in Washington.
The youth of the church will be sponsonng taco and pizza meals inside the air-conditioned fellowship hall of the church, the Men’s Brotherhood a barbecue chicken meal and watermelon down near the pond, Ruth Clark will be coordinating another Grandma’s Attic and Ginger Estes. Mary Bailey and Manlyn Smoot will be conducting a silent auction inside. Anyone desiring to donate items to the Grandma’s Attic or the silent auction should call the Church Office at 675-3336. All proceeds will go to the Summer Youth Mission Trip and the Church Building Fund.
Summer trail rides set
The Rappahannock Hunt is once again offering summer trail rides. The ride on Sunday, June 17 will be held at Duncan Run Farm at Rixeyville at 10 a.m. On Sunday. June 24 the ride will be held at Maple Lawn.

This weekend at Blue Moon
Dulcie Taylor will be performing at Blue Moon Cafe just west of Sperryville on Friday, June 15. On Saturday, June 16 Big Smith will perform.
