Graduation exercises will be held
Saturday, school closes Friday
This upcoming Saturday, June 13 will mark the
51st graduation of the Rappahannock County
High School. We’re sure that, following commencement exercises on Saturday, most of the graduates will head out for well-deserved vacations and revelry.
We also urge them, in their celebrations, to behave responsibly. During the past few years our high students have compiled an admirable record of responsible behavior during tempting times, including prom weekend, senior banquet weekend and graduation. Continue that act of responsibility and professionalism.
We congratulate them on their achievements and wish them well in future endeavors. Sixty-six students will receive diplomas and will be on their way to making a difference in society.
Seventeen from the class are members of the National Honor Society. Twenty-four members will receive the Governor’s Seal (advanced studies diploma — 23 credits — with a 3.0 or better GPA). These are great accomplishments and we are proud of the Class of 2001.
Rappahannock schools will close on Friday, June 15 with an early release at 11 a.m. Children will begin their summer vacations and we wish them all a busy and fun-filled summer.
Teachers, principals and administrators have worked hard this past year and will appreciate the break, even though some of the staff will work throughout the summer months. And to the seniors we extend best wishes for much happiness and success and you travel the path of life. L
