could and should have been more, as they collected nine hits on the night including Johnson’s perfect three for three at the dish. She finished the night with a triple, double and single.

The stage was set for the State Championship game on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. The Lady Panthers would face the Region “A” Champion — the Lady Red Devils from Lancaster High School from the eastern part of the state. The game had all the pregame tension of a winnertake-all contest.

The Lady Panthers were the home team again and Sharp sent the Lancaster side a strong message in the first inning, striking out the first two batters and retiring the side without a threat. From there on, it was vintage “Rapp Softball” — fast and right at you. .
