Activities at Dreamtime
The Art of Papermaking will be held June 23 at Dreamtime Center for Herbal Studies near Washington from 9:30 a m. to 4:30 p.m. and the cost is $60. Experience hands-on the ancient craft of papermaking from abundant and medicinal fiber plants including nettles, garlic, burdock, flax, milkweed, sisal, marshmallow, hemp and hollyhock.
Making Herbal Beer will be held July 28 from 9:30 a m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $60 and includes all materials. For more information contact Dawn Story at Dreamtime, drmtime@shentel.net.
Sculpture workshop slated
A sculpture workshop, figure in clay, will be held June 15-17 at The Oldway Art Center located at 11749 Lee Highway, Sperryville. The three day workshop will be held from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and will be taught by Charles E. Flickinger. Mr. Flickinger is currently teaching sculpture at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and Humblestone Inn for the Arts in Warrenton. The cost of the class is $250 which includes model fee and materials. For additional information or registration call 987-9500.
Bloodmobile coming
Come out and support the American Red Cross Bloodmobile at the Washington Fire Hall on Wednesday, June 27. The bloodmobile will run from 3 to 7 p.m. The Family and Community Educators Club encourages newcomers and regular donors to come and give the gift of life. Start out the summer right — donate blood.
Piedmont Family Fair set
Live musical entertainment, fly fishing on the lake, Jack Russell terrier races and a wide assortment of fine crafters are just a few of the highlights at the 10th annual Piedmont Family Fair scheduled for Wednesday, July 4 from 11 a m. to 5 p.m at Airlie Conference Center, Warrenton. ine warrenton-Dased Piedmont Environmental Council sponsors the Piedmont Family Fair.
In addition to music and entertainment, other activities will include wine tasting, butterfly garden tours, nature walks, beagle and sheepdog demonstrations, local crafters, artists’ show, vintage car show and much more. Food will be available throughout the day.
