This week is proclaimed as “National Little League Baseball Week”, which brings to mind other sports, namely softball and who here in our county can forget this, as we congratulate our Girls Softball Team from Rappahannock High School for taking the State Title after winning two games in Salem during the weekend. We have high praise for each of these young ladies, some of whom live in our area, and their coach, Mr. Jon Smythe.
We extend our great sympathy to the family of Mrs. Alisa Fant Woodward of Boston, who lost her life in an automobile accident last Tuesday near Brightwood and was laid to rest in Thoroughfare Independent Church Cemetery on Friday.
