I was very happy to read “Up

in the Hollow #9” by Ben Jones in your May 30th issue. A relative newcomer to our county, it seems as if Mr. Jones is one of those that do “really care” about our community.

I don’t know about Mr. Teckelmann from Washington. I am surmising that he is all for the legalization of drugs, attempting to convince us that with that act all of the problems would be solved. I wish that I could believe that concept.

Maybe “three quarters of all drug overdoses are attributable to denaturants (cut) in street drugs, not to the actual illicit drug themselves”. Maybe the young lady in Mr. Jones’ article was partly responsible for her own demise, maybe she was completely responsible. I agree that it is most sad and pathetic when innocent children are hurt or worse during the Drug Wars.
