I disagree, however, with his statement that “if drugs were legal, only those using them would die”. Is that what the two emergency room physicians that you personally spoke with told you? Do they not see the number of innocent victims from car accidents, gun accidents and the like? Children that are hurt or killed because of their parents or caretakers not fulfilling their responsibilities to them because of their involvement with drugs. Are you telling us that this would stop simply because the drugs were legal?

I have personally seen a life that is being destroyed by legal drugs turned to because the person could not obtain the illegal ones. Because the drugs that she is using at this time are legal, she is no more able to function in our society or care for her children or seek employment than if the drugs were illegal.
