Superintendent Helen Williams said that she was “here in an ironic way." She recalled that she got her job with the Rappahannock County Public Schools because “two people signed to teach here couldn't find adequate housing" and had to terminate their contracts.
Mrs. Williams noted that one of her more important jobs was finding housing for new teachers and she applauded the proposed apartment project. She concluded by saying, “I think it's smart not to say no to development, but to pick the best and make it work."
