Graham and Dorothy Hackley were honored by the Amissville Ruritans as “Citizens of the Year.”
The county’s two schools joined together last week to put on a three-day science fair complete with dozens of exhibits, careful judges and throngs of visitors.
The best project in the junior division (grades 5-8) was turned in by Nathan Flinchum. He had experimented with different ways to improve the efficiency of air popped popcorn.
Jennifer Anderson, daughter of Robert and Roberta Anderson, has recently been named to the dean’s list of the College of Human Resources at Virginia Tech.
