Town Attorney John Bennett said that the appointment of the new mayor leaves a vacancy on the council that must be filled within 45 days. He asked for and received approval to advertise a public hearing on the matter for consideration at the council’s March 12 meeting.
Council member Jeff Benson reported that bids have been received from auctioneers interested in selling Avon Hall’s contents, and that he and Mr. Goebel will review all bids and make recommendations to the council.
Council member Claudia Mitchell reported that the Council is “very interested” in the new reservoir project and is proceeding on it.
