At Miadleburg’s Coach Stop restaurant Saturday, between bites of Caesar salad and sips of ice tea, Warren talked briefly about his work as President Richard Nixon’s spokesman, his 20-year career as chief editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune and his current role as theology student.
His “past isn’t any big deal” for his friends in the Middleburg area, he said, several of whom stopped by to say hello before sitting down for lunch or heading out to snowy Washington Street. Many were friends from Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the brick church he attends a block from the Coach Stop; others were fellow equestrians.
