In Anticipation
Anticipatory grief is the normal mourning that occurs when a/patient or family is expecting\jeath. It has many of the same symptoms as those experienced after a death has occurred. This includes acute sadness, extreme concent for the dying person, preparing for the death, and adjusting to changes caused by the death. Anticipatory grief gives the family more time to slowly get used to the reality of the loss. People are able to complete “unfinished business" with the dying person, like saying “I forgive you.” Anticipatory grief does not mean that, before the death, a person feels the same kind of grief as after the death. There is no set amount of grief that a person will feel.
Unfortunately, grief has its own boundaries and its own timing and expression. How much we wish we had more control. At the Moser Funeral Home, we understand that the nature of grief is to lack control over what has happened and to suffer because of it. We can help you feel more, empowered by choosing services that honor your loved one appropriately. We’re at 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton Call 347-3431 “Death can make even triviality momentous. ”
