We have been living overseas
for several years, but still receive the Rappahannock News and visit home whenever we can.
We note some of the letters to the editor over the last year or so have raised concerns about the status of emergency medical services in Rappahannock County.
We know that the county emergency services personnel are highly committed and do as much as they can, and an outstanding job. However, manpower and funds are limited, overloaded and to some extent uncertain.
We plan to retire shortly after our foreign assignment and move to the county fulltime. We would like to feel assured that the county is providing good, fast emergency medical services when needed.
Relying so completely on - volunteer emergency services may not be the most appropriate long term solution.
