with a much-anticipated performance by Paul Reisler, noted Rappahannock-based musician who composes all music for Ki Theatre productions. As he plays, Paul will discuss how the process of writing songs feels a great deal like writing poetry and how a song’s melody reflects the lyrics, the mood and intention of the song or poem.
Illustrating this point, Julie Portman, Ki’s creative director, will sing the poetic words of one of Paul’s songs—a new experience for this celebrated actress and author.
Other featured performers are Mark Willcher, landscape designer, artist and poet; Chris Bird, farmer, builder and man-ofletters; Janet Davis, landscape designer and often-appearing actress with Ki Theatre productions; Peter Hornbostel, attorney and star of many Ki productions; and Bayard Catron, conservationist, educator and poetry lover.
Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for students. Reservations may be made by calling (540) 675-1616. Although tickets will be sold at the door, reservations are suggested because of limited space. The Ki Theatre is located on Gay Street in the heart of hi&j toric Little Washington.
