The internationally-touring recording group “Black Heritage Orchestra” will perform at Hearthstone School on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8 p m.
Black Heritage Orchestra’s lead singer, MFA Kera, was bom in Madagascar and raised in Senegal. Kera joined forces with U. S. jazzman Mike Russell and German arranger/ composer/keyboard player Reinhard Katemann to form the Orchestra, which performs the story of black music from Ethnic-African through Blues, Afro-beat, Salsa, Gospel, Reggae, Jazz, Funk and Rap.
The Rappahannock County-based Rude Rock Band, whose members are Noah Waggoner, John Whissle and Chris Moyles, will take the stage at 10 p.m. to celebrate the release of its first CD. Food, beer and wine will be available at the event. Admission is $7 for ages 18 and under; $10 over 18.
