Clark County, Staunton, Augusta County, Madison, Gordonsville, Paige and Shenandoah we would like to try another approach to keep the bus running. We do not want to let the bus stop its service on Sept. 30.
Unfortunately, we have 18 days from the time I am writing this letter. There are many people that the bus is helping, and with the new change to the “OnDemand” curb-to-curb service, we are hoping to reach even more riders. In the first three weeks after changing the service to this option, 102 people called inquiring on how they could use the bus. The need in our community is definitely there.
If we can raise the funds, even monthly, the managers are willing to work with us. Monthly, a 40-hour service costs $1,280 or $8 per hour. We are asking for your support. If we gain that support, we thank you. If we do not receive the necessary funds, we will refund your check.
