Weiss said that now, in Poland, 100 percent of the newborns are tested — a higher percentage than in the United States.
“We’re hoping to get all states to test all newborns,” he said. “Every day, 33 babies are born in America with permanent hearing loss. If we can help them early enough, think how that will change their lives.”
