March hikes
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center is sponsoring three Saturday hikes: March 6. a Moonlight Hike of Old Rag Mountain. Meet at upper parking lot for Old Rag on Nethers’ side by 6 p.m. Bring layerable clothing and nourishment for self and consider a back up light source and in-step cleats or crampons. If planning to camp, come earlier to set up; March 13, a “Second Saturday Series" hike to Big Devil’s Stairs via Harris Hollow Trail. Meet at Mountainside Market on Route 522 west of Sperryville by 9 a.m. Bring nourishment for self and layerable clothing: March 20, a "Rugged Hike-Run Series” adventure which is an intense workout, including Sam’s Ridge Trail, Hazel Mountain Trail, Hannah Run Trail, Hot-Short Mountain Trail, White Rocks Trail and Hazel River Trail figure 8 loop.
