The Rappahannock Countv Board of Zoning Appeals is seeking advice from County Attorney Peter Luke on what powers it has to grant or withhold a “hardship" zoning variance at Rappahannock Lakes, a one-time summer cottage community where building of year-round housing has turned it into one of two “subdivisions" in this rural county.

The property is on Lot 11, Section 2 on Pine Drive in Amissville, about a mile from Hacklev's Mill Road (Route 645).
