“It’s another way of going after the repeat offender by keeping him away from his own automobile,” said Capt. Northern in a recent interview.

“Any drunk driver is a problem. We find that often first time offenders usually respond to punishments and don’t ever do it again. But we are catching people who have been caught several times before. Getting their licenses suspended and a minimum jail time isn’t enough to keep them from driving.”

Now, it is hoped by lawmakers and enforcement officials alike, these repeat offenders will have to take notice.
