kids on, love them, support them and build the future one child at a time. Employees in this system stay because we see the outcome of our efforts everyday in the community around us. Tb suggest that we can do more with less is degrading. We can but should we?
Second concern
Who has a say in where the money goes? I was at a School Board meeting a few weeks ago and there were seven people in the room who weren’t employees of the school. Now, true, that was no budget meeting but the story would not be much different. In five years I have never seen much turnout at any meeting of that sort. If the public wants a voice, the forum is provided. As for teachers, well, we are asked for our budget requests and I would say they get weighed pretty fairly most of the time.
Unfortunately, not too many teachers are showing up at public hearings either. I don’t disagree that there are a couple of powerful lobby groups within the school but if those same parents started a Science Boosters program I would be cheering them on. We can’t say we want parental voice and then attempt to condemn it when we don’t fully agree. Those same parents are the
