Police Briefs

Virginia State Police arrested two men in separate incidents for DUI in the last week.

Mark L. Jenkins, 26, ran his 2001 Honda sports car off the road onto the right embankment at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 nearly in front of the entrance to the Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill. There were no injuries.

State Trooper Lee Felts placed Jenkins under arrested for DUI and brought him before the magistrate in Washington. Jenkins was a guest of the county for the night.

Tracey H. Thompson, 26, of Sperryville at 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 was turning his 1989 Plymouth four-door right on Atkins Road in Sperryville, when his car struck VDOT signs and a utility pole. Sperryville Fire and Rescue were called to the scene. There were no injuries. State Trooper Lee Felts arrested Thompson for DUI, and drove him toi the magistrate’s office in Washington. Thompson was then driven home.
