In her story, “The Law,” she brings a young friend home on the Sabbath and must mediate between his Orthodox values and the bewilderment of her 92-year old mother.
• Megan Hicks of Fredericksburg, an award-winning storyteller and origamist. Her story, “Common Ground,” recounts the friendship with a troubled young man known as Paperman Jack, a self-trained origamist who shared Megan’s love of the ancient paper-folding art.
