The number of fatalities resulting from traffic accidents is on the rise in Rappahannock County.
Authorities point to the rural nature and back roads of Rappahannock as one of the reasons for the rise; the other is the number of motorcycle fatalities.
Since 2002, when the county reported zero fatalities, the number has increased annually. The year, 2003, saw two, and already this year, four fatalities have been reported.
