The war has cost us dearly in human lives and money and world opinion, and has diverted our attention from the real threat of international terrorism. But we are there now. Now that we are on the tiger’s back, how can we dismount safely, responsibly, honorably?
Time is running out, and there is no “Plan B.” President Bush should not put his own political ambitions above his responsibility as commander in chief. He should act now to quell the insurgency and guarantee free elections in Iraq.
