Photo courtesy Richard Lykes ‘PICKIN’ PARTY’: Under a full moon, singers and musicians with guitars, banjos and fiddles performed last Saturday night at Hackley’s Store in Amissville. Now in its fifth year, the ‘Pickin' Party' included 80 fans gathered on the lawn and parking lot with folding chairs to enjoy an old-fashioned sing-a-long. One more performance is scheduled for late Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23. The two-hoyr program included gospel, “old-timey country” and blues. Grandmothers came up to sing for the crowd while children danced on the lawn. Performers included Debbie Zinn, Wayne Willingham, Anders Drew, Phil Estes, John Gwynn, Tony Kincaid, Dan Lewis, Steve Schultz, Roy Riley, and Duane Siler.
