Saturday celebrated the end of the beginning, as the Rappahannock County High School football team finished its first ever varsity season with a 32-15 home victory over Pendleton County High School of West Virginia.
The Panthers camte out slow, going three and out in its first possession. The Wildcats took the punt and drove down the field and went ahead 7-0.
The lead was short-lived as quarterback Ethan Berry went through the middle on a sneak, breaking and spinning his way through the defense for a 40yard touchdown run. The Panthers then scored a surprise two-point conversion with the kicker Paige Payne throwing to Berry, making the score 8-7.
