Veterans’ Day celebration
Honor veterans at a Veterans’ Day celebration in the gymnasium of Rappahannock County High School on Thursday. Nov. 11 at 11 a m. Everyone is welcome. Flags honoring veterans will be displayed in front of the school. Order forms for flags are at the county library, post offices and local businesses.
Oral history workshops
The Museum of Culpeper History, with the Library of Congress and Voices of the Blue Ridge^will host training workshops Friday, Nov. 12 on "How to/dollect Oral Histories.” Emphasis is on the National Veterans History Project and the National Voices of Civil Rights Project, ooth national oral-history undertakings. Workshops are free, open to the public, and are at VFW Post 2217. 1375 Sperryville Pike, 9-11 a.m.; Virginia Community Bank, 701 S. Storytelling by the Sneads
Local storytellers/authors Rayner and Lois Snead will give a talk about their books, “Hollow Boy—Remembrance of Life in the Gid Brown Hollow” and “Girl of Independence” at the Rappahannock library on Friday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. Admission is free. The program is sponsored by Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community.
