“I tried a bunch of different recipes for two months, took them to friends, gave them away, and I got responses like, ‘My dog throws up everything, but he really likes your treats,’ “ Smith declared.
Smith gave a demonstration of her craft a couple of weeks ago at ECOW. She used a tiny scoop — the size used for melon balls — to pick up the peanut butter Parmesan treats and place them onto the baking sheet. Lining them up all in a row quickly, she popped them into the commercial oven and watched them flatten into smallish round cookie-like treats.
Then she used a different mixture and pressed the dough into a mold that produced treats shaped like small elephants.
“I like to make them look interesting, Smith said. “I actually made real cookies the other day and it was kinda weird.”
