Red Cross offers pet first aid class
A four-hour American Red Cross Pet First Aid course will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Red Cross building, 146 N. Main Street in Culpeper. The course teaches individuals basic first aid techniques for dogs and cats due to common illness, injury, or a life-threatening condition. Participants will learn how to identify signals of breathing emergencies, including choking; identify signals of cardiac arrest and how to provide care; identify life-threatening bleeding and how bleeding can be controlled; when and how to move an injured pet; and much more. The American Red Cross/Humane Society Pet First Aid book is included in the $35 course fee. In order to enroll, course fee must be paid no later than Nov. 11.
