According to Michelle Nelson, of the Family Readiness Group, there are a few things we can do for the troops and their families during the holidays. Anything sent to the soldiers for Christmas needs to be sent by Nov. 12 for parcel post or Nov. 27 for priority mail. Here are her suggestions:

• Send hot beverage mixes (instant coffee, hot cocoa, etc), hand warmers or any snacks.

• For the families - especially the parent left at home - give a day
