Science Event
at RCES
On Friday April 8th there was a special science event for students in grades 4-7. Rappahannock County Public Schools working with Curriculum Enrichment was thrilled to welcome the Science Museum of Virginia visit again this year. This visit involved two parts. There was a science museum set up in the gym area all day. Students in grades 4-7 were able to investigate the various interactive exhibits with their teachers.
Students in grades 5-7 also had a one hour hands-on workshop in their classroom. This year the program was a life science adventure called BioExpress. BioExpress is a new program with the intent of providing educational and fun hands-on instructional materials for teaching science. Students participated in one hour workshops on some of the following topics: Adaptations, Fun with Microscopes, You’ve Got Some Nerve, Science Sleuth, and It’s in the Genes.
