Choosing the right tree for a particular site is important to ensure a long-lived and healthy tree.
Unfortunately, little thought is given prior to selecting a tree for a specified location. As a result, the tree may not flourish, resulting in poor health, maintenance expenses, and possibly death.
There are many factors to consider before making a trip to the nursery to select a tree. Once the tree’s location has been determined the following attributes should be considered: soil type, light exposure, tree size and form, fate of growth, root structure, plant features, and disease resistance.
