Rappahannock artist Sara Schneidman will be giving a short talk entitled A Contemporary Artist’s Approach to Rug Design at the Tfextile Museum in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. She will be discussing cultural and symbolic influences of her work as part of the Museum’s series of Rug & Textile Appreciation Mornings. Wakefield Country Day School Book Fair
Summer required reading titles, new releases and classics, and wonderful gift books for preschool through 12th grade readers will be available at the Book Fair to be held at Wakefield Country Day School Tuesday, April 26 through Friday, April 29th each day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and also from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29th. Relay for Life hosts yard sale
The Relay for Life Cancer Walk teams are hosting a big yard sale at the Rappahannock County High School on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All donations and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Seeking young ladies
Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department is seeking young ladies between the ages of 1-21 to complete for the following titles: Little Miss, ages 1-7, Junior Miss, ages 8-15 and Miss Honorary Fire Chief, ages 16-21. Scholastic Book Fair
Rappahannock County Elementary School will host the Scholastic Book Fair April 28-May 3. The theme of this year’s fair is “Read a Great Tale.” The hours for the book fair on Thursday April 28 are 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. which includes the Family Night Event that evening. The hours for April 29, May 2, and May 3 are 8:15 a.m. 4 p.m. Books are available for all ages, including adults. Public is welcome to attend!
