Ki Theatre announces spring season
Two one-act plays by Russia’s most famous playwright, Anton Chekhov, open Ki Theatre’s spring season on Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m. These short plays (“The Marriage Proposal” and “The Bear”), are set in rural Russia in the late 19th century. Car Wash at the Car Show
The Rappahannock County High School band will hold a car wash on Saturday, April 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of RCHS. Come by to check out the amazing autos at the show and get your own car cleaned and vacuumed. Car washes are $5.

Local resident Frank Brosgol has arranged for Ed Berkowitz, a noted professor of histoiy at George Washington University and published author on social security issues, to give a lecture entitled “The History of Social Security: It’s Past, Present and Future.” The talk, which is open to the public, will be presented Saturday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at RCHS , auditorium. Beauty Pageant and Talent Show
Miss Relay for Life Womanless Beauty Pageant and Talent Show will be held at the Old Washington School (CCLC) on Saturday, April 16 at 6 p.m. The pageant will be hosted by the Love, Laugh and Live Relay team. Master of ceremonies will be a friend of last years’ winner Miss La La Debois from Mississippi. Food and drinks will be available as ; well as free door prizes. Come out and support this worthy cause and have a great time while doing so. Annual Spring Event
The annual spring event of the Washington Baptist Church will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This activity will coincide with the annual Fodderstack Race which finishes in Washington. Included in the spring event will be a Grandma’s Attic (yard sale) to be held at the church Fellowship Hall, baked sale, a hamburger and hotdogs lunch provided by the Men’s Brotherhood group of the church. The meal will be held on the courthouse grounds and will include organic Kobe beef donated by Sunnyside Farms. Anyone wishing to donate yard sale items to the church, call the church office at 675-3336. Everyone is welcome.
Basket Weaver
Join Master Basket Weaver Janet Kerig in the Earth Basketry Workshop Saturday, April 16, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Tbwn Hall on Gay Street in Washington. Learn the art of basket weaving using local materials that Mother Nature provides. Help the environment by collecting invasive vines such as honeysuckle, grapevine, wisteria,bittersweet or kudzu. Weaving techniques include twinning and braided borders. Create a beautiful basket to hold your fruit, flowers,veggies or your hopes and dreams.
