Rev. Milton John Switzer, Sr. 90, Pastor of Hope Hill Baptist Church in Castleton, died -on April 7 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was bom Nov. 2, 1914 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Christopher Amos Switzer and Viola Jane Cork Switzer.

Rev. Switzer loved his family who knew him as “Pops”, enjoyed his snacks, something sweet with his coffee, tinkering with cars, woodworking, the beauty of flowers and all of nature’s blessings.

He was a former superintendent of Community Christian Mission in Philadelphia, Pa. past Gideon, and graduate of Philadelphia School of the Bible. He ordained Rev. Jim Lough, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist church, and Rev. Carl Menefee, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, and Rev. Timothy Bower, grandson, missionary to Haiti. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and involved in many Christian ministries for over 60 years.
