Charles O. Dodson Jr. and wife Melissa of Madison.

Additional survivors include a sister, Dorothy Ellen Jenkins and husband Junior of Colonial Beach, Ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Oscar Dodson.

A funeral service was held April 13 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Josh Shifflett. Interment was in the Etlan Cemetery.

Florence Jane Beale Herndon, 93, died on Monday, April 11, at the home of her son, Edwin Beale Herndon, of Frederick, Maryland.

Mrs. Herndon was bom May 30, 1911, to the late Ina Rogers Beale and Edwin J. Beale and raised in Suffolk, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Maurice Gordon Herndon.

She is survived by two sons, Maurice Gordon Herndon, Jr. of Leesburg, Virginia and Edwin Beale Herndon and daughterin-law Lisa Marie Herndon of Frederick, Maryland; three granddaughters, Catherine Elizabeth Herndon, Diane Lynne Hemdon-Wilson and Lisa Marie Herndon Broyhill; and three great-grandsons, Zachary James and Jacob Dickerson Wilson and Cole Herndon Broyhill.

Jane Herndon attended Farmville State Teachers College where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
